- Half-Marathon Wave Start Due to its popularity, the half-marathon has a wave start. This will allow you plenty of “elbow room” along the course and at the finish line, without affecting your tag time or the time you have to complete the race.
Course Time Limits
To ensure that roads reopen to vehicular traffic at the scheduled times, the following course time limits will be STRICTLY ENFORCED:
- You must be able to complete the Marathon within 7 hours.
- You must be able to complete the Half Marathon within 4 hours.
Please note – this is gun time, not timing tag time. We have factored in the time it will take for the last corrals to cross the start line. Please plan your training accordingly.
ROAD CLOSURES & TIME LIMITS
Due to road closure time constraints, two cut off points on the marathon course will be in place.
First, a half marathon finish plan will be implemented. All marathon participants who reach the 10.5-mile mark (Las Vegas Blvd. southbound and Spring Mountain Rd. – the location where the marathon and half marathon courses separate) at 9:45 am or later (16:00 per mile pace / 7:00 marathon) will be directed to the half marathon finish. Runners who reach the 10.5-mile mark after 9:45 am will not be permitted to complete the marathon course.
Second, any marathon participant who reaches the intersection of Hacienda and Rainbow (heading west / mile 16.8) after 11:15, will be required to make a u-turn at that location and continue running / walking to the marathon finish line. Both of these cut off plans are necessary to ensure all roads are re-opened to traffic based on the timeline that has been approved by the City of Las Vegas and Clark County.
All participants planning to run the marathon are encouraged to train to complete the race in less than 7 hours.
Medical Information
The Medical Team is a dedicated group of multidisciplinary medical professionals, available to help assess your race day medical needs and administer acute first aid when necessary.
Medical stations will be located at the Start, Finish and along both courses. Look for large RED and WHITE tents and for our medical volunteers dressed in RED shirts for complimentary help before, during and after the race.

Dropping Out of the Race
You know your body best. If you feel like you cannot finish or your doctor has advised you against participating in this event, we suggest that you do not toe the starting line. If you want to drop out of the race (for non-injury reasons), visit the nearest medical station on the course. Shuttles will be located at several medical stations and will transport you back to the finish line.
Medical shuttle locations will be posted when the information is confirmed.
Please note: You will not be shuttled back to the finish line until cleared by the Medical Team Captain at the above-listed medical stations. If you check into a medical station that does not have a shuttle on duty, you will be directed to walk to the nearest station with a shuttle. Alternatively, you may wait for the sweep vehicle tailing the last participant, or you may call a friend, relative or taxi to pick you up.

Plenty of water and sports drink will be supplied at the start, finish and at replenishment stations throughout the Marathon and Half Marathon. Energy gel will also be available on both courses. Water Station locations will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.

Course Entertainment
What better way to highlight the excitement of Vegas than to line both routes with exciting, live entertainment?! An exhilarating array of music, cheerleaders and Vegas-inspired fanfare will help keep your mind off the miles ahead and put that extra pep in your step as you make your way to the finish line.
Finish Line
The Marathon & Half Marathon will finish in the same general area, just outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Once you cross the finish line, you will receive your finisher medal and enter the Secure Zone – a fenced-off area for race participants only.
Inside this area, you may have your photo taken and will be offered water, sports drink, food and a Mylar blanket. Gear check stations will be located outside the Secure Zone. Once you exit the Secure Zone, you may not return.
